Tech Is The New White: Weddings Go Social [Infographic]

1 Comment 26 December 2011

One of the greatest things about the internet is how much money and time it can save you, not to mention, how many trees it saves. People are becoming more and more tech savvy and it was only a matter of time before people started planning their weddings on online.

It makes perfect sense. Why spend all that money for a little piece of paper that says save the date? You don’t know if everyone is going to rsvp or just show up, you worry it may have gotten lost in the mail, and you have to manually document who is or is not going to attend. According to the new infographic by Sparkle N Dazzle Co. : 1 in 5 couples goes paperless for their wedding invitations.

It doesn’t stop there, some people are going as far as getting married virtually using skype and iPhones. What else can you do online for your wedding that could save you thousands of dollars?

  1. Great infographic! Of course, as weddings become more technologically friendly/dependent it’s important that guests also abide by digital wedding etiquette. If the bride/groom asks guests to RSVP by email it’s one thing; however, notifying the happy couple that you’ll be in attendance via facebook or twitter should never be done (who knows who the bride didn’t invite!!) Guests should also refrain from posting pictures from the wedding before the official wedding photos go live. No one wants to steal the bride’s thunder!
