Last week I wrote a post about Facebook. How I woke up one morning and my Facebook Page looked totally different! In fact, every page I went to looked totally different!! For example, ShortStack’s Page used to look like this…….
But it now looks like this……
Don’t be confused because ShortStack has changed their images but the differences are what I wrote about in my post about what I was seeing on Facebook.
As it turns out, Facebook did roll out some changes. But, they did it in a different way than they usually do! According to ShortStack, when Facebook does a design roll out they usually do it page by page… This time they have done it user by user! So that is why I could see other Facebook Pages looking different but some of my colleagues could not.
ShortStack mentions 6 main differences in Facebook Page layouts and while I mentioned a few of them on my post, here are a couple more specifics you need to know about.
- Smaller Profile/Logo Images - The profile photos/logos have gone from 180×180 pixels to 90×90 pixels. While Facebook is auto-sizing existing profile images, I recommend using PicMonkey to size your photo or logo to the new dimensions before publishing it.
- View As Page Visitor- This gives you the ability to see your Page as others see your page. By clicking on the three dots next to the “message” button, admins can select “View as Page Visitor” and this will change the layout of the the page.
I love the fact that Facebook is constantly trying to make the user experience easier, better, and more engaging. However, as I mentioned before, it is tough staying up to date with all their changes! That is why you definitely want to sign up for my new mini-course, 5 Days to a Fabulous Facebook Page Challenge .
