Have you been scoped? I’m not talking about a colonoscopy here folks. Although that is something important to have done. What I am talking about is the new live video app by the makers of Twitter that is sweeping the social nation.
Periscope is all the rage. According to Derek Halpern, people actually love watching live video on their mobile devices and the web. Who woulda thunk it?
I did my first scope about two weeks ago right after I dropped my husband off at the airport. I was literally driving in the car and had my daughter hold the phone while I talked about one of my blog posts regarding husbands who travel. It was really fun but hardly anyone showed up. I’m ok with that.
The next scope I did was sort of an interview with my daughter where in we talked a bit about a post I wrote regarding teenage girls and what they need from their moms. She was a little gun shy and again not too many followers but that’s ok because I’m just getting started.
Halpern says Periscope is going to be a game changer and I am anxious to see how scoping evolves over the next few months especially since they already have over 10 million users.
My most recent scope was a conversation with my oldest son, Case. We discussed the fact that he has moved back home since finishing college and how it’s working for him and the family. I love the idea that I can involve others to ask questions, make comments and connect in a whole new way. Michael Hyatt discusses 9 reasons why he loves Periscope and why we should adopt it asap……
“I find myself developing deep friendships and new friendships with fellow “scopers.” I jump on their broadcasts and promote them on mine. I am noticing a new community developing—and, it involves audience members, too.”
I have to admit, I’m kind of excited to see where this goes. I would love to get better at broadcasting and scope more often. So stay tuned on Periscope to see and hear what my cracked conclusion is on a number of topics and please send comments and hearts so I feel loved.
